They will make an assessment of the current market value based on the condition of the property, how much other houses have sold for nearby, and what price trends are like currently. This won’t be a 100 percent accurate figure, as a house is only ever worth what someone is willing to pay for it. For a very rough estimate, type the postcode and house number into Zoopla’s property valuation tool. The result won’t be very accurate but it’s free and it gives you a general idea of what you might get if you sold the property.
