The typical length of time to sell a house can vary depending on your location and when you put the home up for sale. In general, it takes somewhere between four and six months to sell a house. That “average” assumes that homes are priced competitively with their local market, marketed in the appropriate manner for the neighbourhood, attended properly to show at their best potential each day, appropriately priced with regard to comparable in that area (prices are always negotiable), well maintained and updated before sale date. Sellers should bear in mind there is no such thing as a “normal” situation for a seller; they have individual preferences so needs must be addressed accordingly.
