Popular colours for the season to be used in your house!

Are you considering beginning the new year with a gorgeous recolour? The following how we are using a more vibrant colour palette throughout the winter months:

Olive Green, royal blue, and burnt orange are some of the most popular house colours on Instagram right now, according to the platform. As we get farther into the winter months, social media indicates that we are making more daring decisions in our homes and adopting a more vibrant colour palette than ever before.

See our opinions on the 5 most notable colour choices for 2022, as well as the interior trends that they are associated with, and how to incorporate more colour into your house…

Royal Blue is the colour of royalty.

Dark blues may be quite strong when it comes to décor, but they can also be daunting when you’re just starting out, so it’s fantastic to see them take centre stage this winter for a change! Colours such as navy and Prussian blue look really great in both modern and classical design spaces and may be used to make a statement or to be subtle and modest.

When it comes to decorating your house, royal blue may be utilised sparingly in your accessories if you want a more delicate approach to colour. If deep blue is too bold, you may want to integrate it into your decor via the use of glass, such as glass side lamps or pendant lights, which will bring colour to a neutral area. Decorate with pillows and throws in similar tones in order to bring the whole thing together. Alternatively, if you want to make a more dramatic statement with blue, why not try some blue velvet bed linen and then create a stunning feature wall behind the headboard?

Colours in the range of Mauve and Neutrals

Despite the fact that grey did not make the cut, it should come as no surprise to learn that neutrals were the second most preferred house colour on our social media feeds.

The use of neutrals is always a good idea. The layering of oatmeal, stone, taupe, mauve, and brown colours in a space creates a relaxing Scandi atmosphere that is both simple and effective. Incorporating an over-sized rug or kilim onto a dark timber floor gives the perfect textured canvas for a natural-looking living room or bedroom environment.

Blush Pink

Pinks take on a softer and more subdued vibe this winter when placed on tactile upholstery materials such as linen and velvet.

Over the previous month, muted pinks have grown trendier in interior design. They adorn the inside of the house with a delicate touch and a glint of surprise. Opting for an upholstered bed in light pink with matching ottoman or stool can bring femininity and romanticism to a plain white bedroom.

Adding a candle, some wall art, and some cushions will complete the appearance and create a lovely haven for you to unwind in throughout your busy day. Living rooms decorated in rose pinks have also grown more popular, with rich velvet couches taking centre stage. Pink has replaced grey as the new neutral.

Olive Green

We’ve seen an excess of greens in recent years, thanks to the emergence of the biophilic movement and the popularity of natural floral patterns. There are several methods to incorporate green into your house, from the use of sage and cardamon in the warmer months to the use of olive and woodland in the cooler months and winter months.

Olive green is a very adaptable colour that may be used as a statement wall, as a flash of colour in an occasional chair, footstool, or even a painted chest of drawers.

Create an immensely warm living room by splashing your walls in colour, make a statement with luxurious green velvet bed linen, or add a subtle touch with house plants in the kitchen and bathroom.

Burnt Orange

Using a rich burnt orange in the house, the hottest colour on our list, provides a brighter view throughout the darkest months of the year. Bringing warmth into our homes with burnt orange tones when the days become darker, and the weather becomes colder is a welcoming relief.

Last year, we witnessed the return of the nostalgic 70s style, which you can incorporate into your home with brilliant colour choices and playful details such as textured feathery lamp shades, tassels, fringing, and macrame wall hangings and planters.
