Estate Agent Marylebone

Spot Light on Marylebone

There are two dates for your diary in 2018 if you love Marylebone as much as we do. The 16th June, in Paddington Street Gardens Howard De Walden host the Marylebone Summer film night in collaboration with the Nomad Cinema and 17th June is the infamous Marylebone Summer Fayre – an annual family-friendly and community street festival.

For me, both these events represent everything Marylebone stands for, community, local residents and family, something which in recent years with the launch of on-trend restaurants like The Chiltern Firehouse, seems to have been lost in translation. The area has exceptional schools, a high street with everything you need to stock your cupboards, and an incredible array of long-standing Victorian properties that suit singles, couples and larger families.

With two estates dominating the area, Marylebone has managed to retain a sense of community, sensible retail to allow practical living in the area and restaurants to fit all budgets and tastes – from the Monocle Café to Simon Rogan’s Roganic (which is now thankfully a permanent fixture)!

The neighborhoods have some serious hidden gems, especially if you’re looking for specialist items. At 2 Hinde Street you’ll find Bishop instruments and bows with an amazing collection of string instruments and on 35 Marylebone Lane is Paul Rothe and Sons, an 117 years old jam shop that is still drawing people from miles away. Plus look out for the rich history of the Rothe Family on the side of the store.

Marylebone is called many things, chic, contemporary, affluent and urban however ultimately it’s an area of London with a fantastic sense of community and ownership – an area which offers a bit of everything. Now put those dates in your diary and we’ll see you there!
