One will be Casa Pastor, a Mexican Taqueria that will seat more than its smaller cousin El Pastor on Stoney St. El Pastor makes tortillas in-house from scratch every day, and the restaurant is among the city’s top-rated Mexican outlets. The second restaurant to open at Granary Square is Barrafina, with 34/60/20 covers inside/outside terrace/private dining room. The Barrafina in Soho has been awarded a Michelin star, and there are three in all, with a reputation for fabulous tapas which also means that the crowds are almost always big and lines long. So, anyone reviewing properties for rent in Soho or King’s Cross is truly in for a surprise.
The third offering from Harts is The Drop, a wine bar that will not serve Spanish or Mexican food, rather focus on Modern British cuisine. The three restaurants should be up and running in Coal Drops Yard by end of October. Coal Drops Yard started life delivering millions of tonnes of coal and underwent a redesign by the renowned Heatherwick Studio. Harts expects the historical site to attract shoppers and workers by the droves.
It’s been less than a week since Canopy Market opened at West Handyside Canopy in King’s Cross. The street food, drink and craft market is open every weekend, and hosts live music sessions on Fridays from musicians and DJs. Enjoy your fill of doughnuts from Bread Ahead, Portuguese sandwiches from Growlers, grilled cheese sandwiches from Big Melt and an appetizing variety from a slew of guest traders.
