Rendezvous with London’s Literati in Bloomsbury

A leisurely stroll through Central London can have you chance upon some interesting sights and sounds, which a few centuries years earlier inspired the likes of Charles Darwin, William Butler Yeats and Virginia Woolf.

Bloomsbury, located just north of Covent Garden, will leave you spellbound at the sheer number of rendezvous points for London’s elite eclectic. Touted as London’s cultural and literary centre by estate agent Bloomsbury experts, this Central London neighbourhood is all set to welcome literati and artists from around the world.

It all starts with the historic British Museum, which has been the pulsating heart of Bloomsbury since its establishment in 1753. With over 8 million pieces in its extensive collection, it happens to be one of the biggest museums in the world.

You also have the famous Gray’s Inn Gardens, where P.B.Shelley used to secretly meet his to-be-wife Mary, under the cover of intoxication and darkness. Bloomsbury Square, another renowned rendezvous point happens to be where renowned political figures like PM Benjamin Disraeli laid roots. The Tavistock Hotel, where Virginia Woolf and husband Leonard lived, also attracts a large crowd of intellectuals.

Estate agent Bloomsbury expert Rob Hill, Greater London Properties stated “the renovation of the iconic Bloomsbury Hotel may soon attract a more liberal-minded and multi-cultural group to the neighbourhood”. This ambitious real estate venture will soon see the lobby of this archetypal Georgian-style building turning into an avant-garde bar-cum-lounge where visitors can grab a drink and then head on inside for a night of merriment.
