Established since 2003, Greater London Properties (glp) are proud to be Central London’s Largest Independent Estate Agency, specialising in Residential Sales, Lettings and Property Management.  We are uniquely Soho’s only estate agency and have a second shop positioned in the heart of Bloomsbury meaning we can easily assist all our clients from these central locations.

Rob Hill, MBA, Director, rob@glp.co.uk

I left Liverpool University with an MBA in Urban Regeneration and a degree in Geography and started working with a North London Estate Agency. After a short time I recognised that due to consistent staff changes and the size of the geographical area covered, much of the advice given to both Landlords and Tenants was too generalised to be of any real assistance.

I felt that the ideal Agency should have an unrivalled knowledge of its area, not just street by street but property by property, thus the strategy of GLP was conceived. In 2003 I rented a Soho office and began trading.

In 2008 the company moved to Broadwick St and Greater London Properties became the only property window in Soho, something I am extremely proud of.

It’s a pleasure to be so involved in the local community, it’s an incredibly unique area and the changes taking place will only add to this. We have a fantastic team of people who know the west end intricately, are all experts in their roles and are a pleasure to work with, I couldn’t be happier. My spare time is taken up by my ever growing family, Everton and the NFL.

Kate Hill, BA(hons), Marketing Manager, kate@glp.co.uk

After graduating from Liverpool, I was accepted into the Black and Decker Graduate Programme where I was trained as a power tool demonstrator developing my selling skills and perfecting my wood work! After 3 years I moved to London taking a marketing job and started working for GLP at the beginning of 2012.

My role is to ensure our properties and the company gain as much exposure as possible, through talking with journalists, attending networking events, social networking and online advertising.

It’s been an extraordinary few years and we are proud to have become one of the largest independent estate agencies in the area. There is a strong market for bespoke and personal service an agency like ours can offer clients both large and small, and its exciting times ahead.

My spare time is spent running around Dulwich and trying all the delicious new restaurants in the West End!

Sarah Smith, BA(hons) Branch Manager, Soho, sarah@glp.co.uk

Starting my career in the banking sector in the City, I decided to take the plunge and switch to Residential Lettings in 2010, one of the best decisions I have made. I have worked in both the City and West End markets giving me an in-depth knowledge of the Central London property market.

After working as a Lettings Negotiator for 4 years, I was offered the role in the referencing department here at Greater London Properties which I loved.  In 2015 I was promoted to Branch Manager of Soho handling the lettings department.  I work with an incredible group of people and thoroughly enjoy the variety and pace the property industry and this area of London demands.

My weekends are taken up with festivals and my gorgeous King Charles Spaniel Winston.

After working as a teacher in Spain for 3 years, I decided to move to London  – it’s a city I have always loved!  Initially I worked as a supervisor in retail but then decided to start a new career in the interesting sector of Property where I worked  as a Property Manager.  My skills naturally led me into my current role with Greater London Properties,  coordinating the tenancies, handling the contracts and basically ensuring our tenants move-ins run as smoothly as possible.

I am delighted to be working in Central London, I am fortunate in that I’m able to walk into the Soho branch from my home in Angel (however it does means I never have an excuse to be late!).

I previously worked in the film industry for 11 years as publicity manager for both MGM and Sony Pictures studios working on major large budget film releases across the UK and international markets. Working as part of an award winning team an important element of my work was talent management, which gave me invaluable experience in client relations at the highest level. This knowledge has translated into my work within the property market. Having made the switch to the property industry I have worked at GLP for 7 years and have a thorough understanding of the exciting and fast moving West End market.

Oskar Riessbacher, Senior Property Consultant, oskar@glp.co.uk

I realized my passion for property early whilst working for my father’s estate agency during my school years. After graduating, I went to work for one of Austria’s leading banks and then Europe’s leading property companies where I gained a higher understanding of the industry.

After finishing my MSc in Business Administration I joined Greater London Properties as a lettings negotiator and immediately fell in love with London and the West End.

I am currently studying again in Real Estate at Reading University in order to gain more qualifications and a more in-depth knowledge of all aspects of property. I am a keen cyclist and have recently returned from a trip starting at Dunkirk and ending up at the Hook of Holland, quite an adventure.

I have worked in the property industry for nearly 10 years specialising in residential lettings & sales. Having previously worked for a property development company I have developed an expert knowledge of the central London property market working both client side and agency. I am also ARLA qualified allowing me to offer professional guidance on the law and management of residential property.

Being local to the area, I know the West End well and take full advantage of the fantastic shopping, restaurants and culture on offer.

I am originally from Galway in Ireland where I worked in the summer holidays for my Fathers property company. After taking time out to study in London, I decided my passion lay in property and started work with City West Home Residential as a Relationship Manager. I joined GLP at the beginning of 2015 as a Property Consultant and am extremely excited about working on the different portfolios that comes with the territory.

In my spare time I love going to the musicals and exploring everything London has to offer.

Marc Hughes, Head of Property Management, marc@glp.co.uk

I have over 7 years’ experience in the property management and construction industry. I began my career as a crane operator in Central London working on huge developments such as Great Ormond St and St Georges Wharf in Vauxhall whilst still having time to play semi-professional football.

After refurbishing my own house I realised my passion for property and began work at Apollo group then moved to Acorn as a property manager and from there Dinglis Estates, a development company based in north London.

I am ARLA qualified and now head up the Property Management team here at GLP working with private landlords, Local Estates and oversee all aspects of the property management. Every day is different and offers new challenges but I have seen the department and workload double in the last 2 years and look forward to the exciting times ahead.

After a career in engineering I decided to return to London for its variety and way of life that is unique and can’t be found elsewhere in the UK. I have chosen a different career path and have been in the property industry for 4 years with experience in serviced apartments, block management and now lettings. Having offices in the heart of London the property management team are kept busy. As with any form of property management the role is challenging but at GLP it is also varied with tenants from all backgrounds.

Susan Bennett, Financial Controller, susan@glp.co.uk

I am currently in my final year of studying for an AAT qualification and am well on my way to becoming chartered.  I’m delighted to be working in the finance department at GLP – I handle all aspects of rent collection, invoicing, credit control and general booking keeping and find the role both exciting and challenging.  I’m looking forward to the growth of the company with such a brilliant team of people.

When not working or studying, my spare time is spent with my two little girls whom tends to keep me busy with their nonstop energy.

I began my career in the arts industry having a strong passion for theatre and TV acting, which has taken me to worldwide destinations such as New York and Edinburgh. I was fortunate enough to fall into a sales role which eventually led me into the start of my property career.   I have worked as a Property Consultant for over 5 years and joined GLP Bloomsbury at the beginning of 2016.

In my spare time I love to travel having just returned from 12 months travelling Australia.

Having previously worked as a lettings negotiator in South East London it’s great to be working in a more fast paced environment across such a wide range of property, from perfectly designed studios up to incredible penthouses.   As a regular theatre goer,  I have always loved the West End and am delighted to get the opportunity to work with so many prestigious portfolios in this area.  Outside of work I love a game of basketball, squash – to be honest anything ‘sport’.   Property definitely runs in the family which is why it was an obvious choice of career for me when I left university – I’ve never looked back and really love what I do.

I have previously worked in Corporate industry which gave me a great experience in dealing with different types of customers. During my time there I have realised that my real passion was in properties and switched career into lettings.  To be proficient and understand all necessary processes I decided to further my education and in May 2016 gained ARLA qualification in Residential Lettings and Property Management. I have only recently joined GLP team in Bloomsbury office and it already feels like being part of the family.

My spare time involves fitness, exploring London with friends and interest in criminal psychology.

After graduating from UCA with a Music Journalism degree, I wanted to work and get as much experience as possible. I worked in hospitality for a few years followed by a role in the building industry but never found something I saw myself doing in the future, until I came to Greater London Properties.

Coming from a heavily music focused background it’s great to be in such a vibrant part of London – Jimi Hendrix used to live round the corner from the office!  Soho is the perfect location for me and the team I work with are some of the most helpful and entertaining people I’ve met.

In my spare time I play guitar and sing in a punk band – quite the contrast to my day job.

I graduated from Bristol UWE University in 2011 after studying Psychology and Drama and was then lucky enough to have the opportunity to travel throughout Asia experiencing many different cultures. After returning to the UK, I made the decision to move to London in 2013 and began my career in property. My knowledge of the property market is consistently growing and I have really found my passion working within residential estate in Central London. I am always keen to learn new things to further my career and in my spare time you will always find me first on a karaoke mic, exploring the outdoors and visiting new places.

I have spent the last 8 years working in schools and specialised in helping children with special needs. Alongside this I was also a swimming teacher for people of all ages and helped train them for triathlons. I enjoyed my time in the water so much that I became a competitive swimmer, trained to become a lifeguard and started my own swimming company.

Whilst teaching, I always made the most of the school holidays and have been lucky enough to explore India, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, America, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Hong Kong.

I finally decided to settle down and was drawn to the busy London life and the vibrant property market. Working in the West End is a dream come true and I am constantly learning more about the current market, referencing procedures and legal requirements needed to rent a property. I enjoy the entire process of renting properties to tenants and I am lucky enough to be meeting new people every day!
