‘What the owner says’
Robsart Mansions holds such a special place in my heart. It has seen me through so many stages of my life! A happy and very versatile home. With the beautiful Marchmont street gardens next door one it is a peaceful haven.
I first moved in when I was studying at UCL. It was the perfect location for the campus and of course a certain amount of partying in central London. It was a very sociable time sharing the flat with two other friends. The three bedroom setup worked well as the kitchen is spacious, providing us with common space in which to entertain and relax together.
A few years later my sister moved in and as young professionals both on London wages we decided to keep a big bedroom each and convert the third bedroom into a cosy living-room. Being able to walk to the bars and restaurants of Soho, West End theaters and having so many public transport options to see our friends was brilliant and we always felt safe coming home late.
The next stage saw my fiancé, now husband move in and us converting the flat again. This time to include a large living room and study room. We enjoyed romantic nights out at Regents Square Open Air theatre, the Curszon Bloomsbury and unforgettable meals meals in Lambs Conduit street. We love all the little independent shops, cafes and restaurants but Ciao Bella is our favourite!
Finally our flat has grown into a family home with not one, but two little loves. I have been blown away by “secret London” for the under 5s. Bloomsbury is an amazing place to raise a family with all the beautiful public squares for picnic dinners in the summer, the amazing Coram’s Fields playground right on our doorstep, not to mention wonderful free classes at the likes of the British Museum, British Library, National Gallery etc…. We love that we can walk to so many destinations like Coal Drops Yard which always has fun markets and events on, as well as being close to Euston, Kings Cross and St Pancras stations where we can hop on the rail lines to see friends and family who have moved out of London. Being so central just means everywhere is at our fingertips. We will miss Robsart Mansions, but we won’t be moving far!
